Andrew Mitchell MP has met with Tom Walsh and Susanne Houghton, two entrepreneurial Sutton Coldfield residents, who have set up an innovative new website to better connect employers and employees in the construction industry.
Their new website, Subbyline, is designed to help the long term unemployed and those struggling to find employment within the construction industry. On the site, employers can post notes detailing their current labour requirements while tradesmen can post notes saying they are available for work. Regional bulletin boards display notes for a particular area.
Tom Walsh, Director of Subbyline said, “I am really pleased at the response we have had so far. Subbyline is providing a long overdue service for the construction industry. As a Project Manager I understand the pressures and deadlines we all face and the need for instant solutions – Subbyline is the way forward for the construction industry.”
Andrew Mitchell MP said, “This is a really interesting and entrepreneurial idea that I hope will help my constituents and others in the construction industry. I have immediately written to the District Manager of our Jobcentre Plus recommending that he looks at this effective way of helping people back into work.”
