Andrew Mitchell MP has met with over 100 Sixth Formers at Bishop Vesey Grammar School in Sutton Coldfield.
Mr Mitchell gave a short talk on his role as Sutton’s Member of Parliament and the British political system which stimulated much debate between students and MP. Andrew fielded questions from the Sixth Formers on a range of highly charged political topics. He also urged the students to use their vote at the upcoming General Election.Following the visit, Andrew Mitchell MP said, “It is clear that politics and all issues that surround the topic are very much to the fore in the minds of Bishop Vesey’s Sixth Formers. It was a pleasure to talk to the students who demonstrated great enthusiasm and a strong knowledge of current affairs.”
David Iddon, Headteacher at Bishop Vesey said, “Many thanks to Andrew for coming here today. The visit has helped to develop a sequence of activities in the political life of the school.”Home | Andrew | Sutton Coldfield | Team News | Local News | Parliament | Parliamentary Allowances | Gallery | Links | Media | Contact
